Privacy Policy

Last updated September 2026. This explains what information EIHL Dream Team collects, why, and what you can do about it.

1. Who We Are

EIHL Dream Team is an independent, fan-run fantasy hockey competition, run by Mitchell Vaughton. For the purposes of UK data protection law, we are the controller of the personal information described in this policy.

If you have any questions about this policy or your information, email mitch@eihldreamteam.com.

2. What We Collect

Account details: your email address and password. Passwords are stored securely by our authentication provider and are never visible to us.

Profile details: your manager name, your team name, your favourite club, and whether you want trade alerts.

Game data: your squad, captain and alternate captains, trades, chips, scores and league positions, and any mini-leagues you create or join.

Payment confirmation: whether your entry fee has been paid, and when. Card details are handled entirely by Stripe (website) or by Apple or Google (in-app purchases). We never see or store them.

Push notifications (app only): if you allow notifications, a device identifier linked to your account, so we can send you deadline reminders and trade alerts.

Messages you send us, for example support requests by email.

3. How We Use It

To run the Competition: creating your account, saving your squad, scoring your team, and showing standings. This is necessary to provide the service you signed up for.

To keep the service working and secure: fixing problems, preventing cheating and multiple entries, and investigating payment issues. This is in our legitimate interests.

To send push notifications, only if you have allowed them. You can turn them off at any time in your phone's settings or in the app.

We do not use your information for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not use advertising or analytics cookies.

4. What Other Players Can See

Your manager name, team name, points and league position appear in the public standings. Other players can also view your squad and captaincy choices for a gameweek once its deadline has passed. Your email address is never shown to anyone.

5. Who We Share It With

We use a small number of trusted providers to run the service, and they process your information only on our behalf:

Supabase (database and sign-in), Vercel (website hosting), Stripe (website payments), Apple and Google (app distribution and in-app purchases), and OneSignal (push notifications).

Some of these providers may process information outside the UK. Where they do, they use legal safeguards approved under UK data protection law, such as standard contractual clauses.

Half of every entry fee is donated to Mind, but we do not share your personal information with Mind.

6. Cookies

The website only uses the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to remember your session. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

7. How Long We Keep It

We keep your information for as long as you have an account. You can delete your account at any time, and your login, email address, squad and profile are removed immediately.

Payment providers keep their own transaction records for legal and accounting purposes. Points your team scored in completed gameweeks may remain in league history, but they are no longer linked to you.

See our account deletion page for how to delete your account, and exactly what is and isn't removed.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. To make a request, email mitch@eihldreamteam.com.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.

9. Age

The Competition is open to anyone aged 16 or over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone younger.

10. Changes To This Policy

If we change how we use your information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Significant changes will also be announced on the website or in the app.
